Hi everyone,
Welcome to our Moving & Repatriation issue! Even under the very best circumstances moving is difficult. The excitement of your new adventure is mixed with the regrets of leaving everything behind. Along with your anticipation of exciting opportunities is the realization that you’ll soon be starting over…again.
While we can’t come over and help you pack or calm your racing heart just before you walk into the first coffee morning in your new town, perhaps the stories we’ll share in this issue will help. Take a look inside for tales, advice, and empathy from seasoned expats who know how it feels to pack up again.

In this issue—as always—we’ll introduce you to new inspiring women. And speaking of inspiring, we’ll also tell you about several new books written by women right here in our community. What an achievement! Are you thinking about professional pursuits here, but aren’t sure where to start? Check out WINGS to see if mentoring might be your answer. I hope you’ll find helpful advice and interesting stories to enjoy throughout the issue.
Are you on Facebook yet? If not, perhaps our brief introduction to it will help you get started. Once you do, be sure to friend us! We’ve set up a new Acclimate page to help keep in touch with you between issues and to hear your thoughts.
Times are tough all over the world, and print media certainly isn’t exempt. While I watch internationally renowned newspapers and magazines close their doors, I’m especially grateful for the advertisers who make each issue of Acclimate possible. Everyone’s cutting back, but these advertisers have decided that you—our faithful readers—are important. Please show your thanks by patronizing them whenever the need arises. And be sure to tell them that you heard about them in Acclimate!
Every day, I have the honor and pleasure of meeting the most amazing women throughout our community. Your stories and comments inspire me, and I’m grateful for your support and enthusiasm. I want to make sure that we continue to bring you inspiring stories, address issues that interest you, and answer your burning questions, so please drop me a line at feedback[at]acclimatemagazine.com and let me know what you think.
Thanks for reading,

Tracey Starr
